David McAlister

Founder and President

David McAlister is the Founder and Principal of McAlister GeoScience. David has over 17 years of experience in the environmental field working for ERM and Tetra Tech. It was in 2012 we started McAlister GeoScience. From there it has grown into the multi-discipline, geological consulting firm with the same core value in mind, helping our clients achieve their goals.

David’s professional experience has been predominantly in the support of industrial and commercial real estate transactions, specifically Phase I & Phase II investigations, agency interaction, and in-depth site investigation / remediation work. He has been working with real estate agents, loan agents, loan processors, investors, and developers. His professional experience has also included litigation support and regulatory compliance as well as site investigation and remediation for a number of Fortune 100 companies over the years at various sites in the greater Los Angeles area. This has provided him with exposure to vast array of environmental challenges that are facing property managers and risk management professionals today.

Marty Kasman

Principal in Charge, Pasadena, California

Marty Kasman serves as the Principal in Charge of the Pasadena Office.  He has over 40 years of experience assessing the environmental conditions of properties.  Mr. Kasman served fourteen years with the Los Angeles County Fire Department as a Supervising Hazardous Material Specialist and Deputy Health Officer.  His responsibilities included field and laboratory work in hazardous materials management, conducting inspections of industrial plant operations, monitoring cleanup activities, investigating abandoned hazardous waste sites and other cases involving the illegal dumping of hazardous materials.  Prior joining the McAlister GeoScience team, he was the president and CEO of Orswell & Kasman, Inc., a well-established environmental consulting firm in Southern California, known for providing due diligence services like Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, asbestos surveys and environmental records search for real estate, lending, and legal industries. 

Mr. Kasman is an ASTM Environmental Professional and a Registered Environmental Health Specialist (#4927) with the State of California.  He is also a USEPA/AHERA accredited Asbestos Management Planner and California Certified Asbestos Consultant (#99-2553).  Mr. Kasman received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Environmental and Occupational Health Science from California State University at Northridge.  He also has a Certificate in Hazardous Materials Management from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).  He is an ASTM Certified Environmental Professional, an ASTM Certified Environmental Liabilities Professional and a Registered Environmental Professional (#16721027364230302).

Zach Gilmer, P.E.

Senior Engineer

Zach Gilmer has over 15 years of civil and environmental engineering and construction experience. He is a Licensed Contractor and Professional Engineer in the states of California and Washington.

Mark Stuhlman

Project Geologist, ASTM Environmental Professional

Mark Stuhlman is an ASTM Environmental Professional and geologist with geotechnical and environmental experience. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from California State University at Northridge. He has 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification and undertakes 8-hour refresher training annually.

Mr. Stuhlman has over 10 years of experience in private industry conducting Phase I and Phase II environmental assessments, monitoring cleanup activities and site remediation. He has managed large remediation projects, including soil and groundwater monitoring programs, and soil dig and haul oversight. He has been responsible for remediation, contracting and system installation, and construction management.

Mr. Stuhlman’s education, training, and work experience in environmental site assessments and remedial activities fully qualifies him to conduct environmental assessments and consulting services. He is a member of the Geological Society of America, American Association of Petroleum Geologists, and the Geoscience Information Society.

Joe Landeros, GIT

Staff Geologist

Mr. Landeros has been a Staff Geologist at McAlister GeoScience since 2019, bringing expertise in geological field techniques, structural geology, geochemistry, and GIS. Joseph has extensive experience conducting Phase I and Phase II due diligence for banks, institutional investors, and portfolio managers. His work includes investigation, historical research, and hydrogeologic modeling of subsurface soil and groundwater impacts.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Geological and Earth Sciences from California State University, Long Beach, and maintains industry certifications, including a Geologist-in-Training certification from the State of California Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists (issued May 2021) and an OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification from Safety Management Systems. His expertise in environmental compliance, risk assessment, and site remediation makes him a key asset to McAlister GeoScience.

Jorge Ramos

Project Manager

Mr. Ramos has been a Project Manager at McAlister GeoScience since 2020, bringing extensive experience in environmental investigations, remediation, and property assessments. With a background in geology and a strong foundation in fieldwork and data analysis, he specializes in conducting Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, remediation projects, and Property Condition Assessments.

Jorge earned a bachelor’s degree in Geology/Earth Science from California State University, Long Beach. He maintains industry certifications, including Radon Measurement Professional through the NRPP, Quire Super Contractor User Level 1, and Geologist in Training (GIT) from ASBOG.

Daisy Wanless

Project Manager

Ms. Wanless joined McAlister GeoScience in July 2024 as a Staff Geophysicist, bringing a strong background in geophysical research, data analysis, and fieldwork. She holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of Colorado Denver, where she gained experience in geophysical archaeology and remote sensing technologies.

Before joining McAlister GeoScience, Daisy worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Colorado Denver’s Geophysical Archaeology Laboratory, specializing in laser scanning and point cloud mapping for historic preservation projects. She has conducted field scans at sites like Sakura Square in Denver and Heart Mountain in Wyoming, serving as Pilot-In-Command for drone-based data collection. In addition, Daisy served as a Teaching Assistant, guiding students through hands-on physics experiments and inquiry-based learning.

Jeffery Anyimah

Staff Scientist

Mr. Anyimah joined McAlister GeoScience in July 2025 as a Staff Scientist and serves as the firm’s Health and Safety Lead. He brings a strong background in Environmental Assessment, Health and Safety, Hazardous Waste Management, GIS & Spatial Analysis, Environmental Policy, and Ecology. Mr. Anyimah graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and a minor in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences at the University of Washington, with a focus on Occupational Hygiene and Exposure Science. Based in the Seattle area, Jeffery is a key member of the McAlister GeoScience Pacific Northwest Team.
